Recent Updates

Most Recent Update from 7/21/2020 (Minor update 7/28):

Please read this update thoroughly and email   with any questions.

We are planning on having normal season with the appropriate COVID-19 precautions in place.  The current guidance does not require children to wear masks while playing, but requires social distancing or masks while waiting to play or on the sidelines (and for spectators / coaches as well).

As guidelines are still changing we will keep coaches, parents and players updated with any changes before season start and during the season.

Club and Rec programs will be following EPYSA COVID-19 guidelines for playing soccer this fall.  Please reference their website for the latest information.  A PDF of the restart program is available here:

Pre-K, Tiger 1  and Recreational (includes U8/2013) soccer registrations will be closing 7/31/2020.

Club (Travel) registrations have closed.  Please email the Club Coordinator if you would still like to sign up.

On August 1st we will update the registrations with the required fee's and notify those who have signed up for their payment and approval.

Coaches and Assistants are still needed for the Tiger program (Pre-K, Tiger 1).  Please contact Chris Waltman (Tiger Coordinator) if interested.

For questions on the recreational league please contact the Rec Coordinator:

We will be opening a Spirit Store this fall.  Please stay tuned for more information.

Update from 6/7/2020:

Please read this update thoroughly and email   with any questions.

"INTEREST IN" registrations have been opened for FALL 2020 Tiger Pre-K, Tiger 1, and Recreational (includes U8/2013) soccer programs.

Separate registrations will be opened later this summer to collect payment, inclduing NYAA Annual fees (if applicable). This is being done to avoid possible refunds if a Fall season is not possible.

Update from 5/7/2020:

Please read this update thoroughly and email with any questions.

Reasons for "no cost" Club Registrations
- registrations will be paid at a later date when we are (all) sure that there will be a Fall season
- to assure that players do NOT need to leave NYAA to play this Fall
- to assess whether U9 Girls and/or Boys team are possible for Fall 2020 (see below)

Applicable Players
- players that were registered for Spring 2020
- players that are new to the district and/or would like to tryout for Club (travel) soccer
- U9 Girls & Boys players interested in Club (travel) soccer *

* please register as soon as possible so we are able to assess interest at U9 as this is the first Club year

Previous Update from 4/23/2020 Below:

The last Northwestern Soccer program, Club (travel), has officially been cancelled for Spring and refunds initiated. Please allow a few days for refunds to go through.

When it’s possible, posts will be made on both the Northwestern (NYAA) Soccer website and FB, letting everyone know which options will be available for Summer and/or Fall.

Until then, be safe & enjoy each other’s company!

Players are now grouped by CALENDAR YEAR. If a player is born during a specific year, they can participate at that age grouping for the entire soccer year (Fall and Spring - not the calendar year). Download the US Soccer Age Chart Matrix (PDF) if you have any questions related to the appropriate program for your player based on their age (DOB).

Please note that at U9 your child is eligible to participate in either the Recreational or Travel program. The program chosen will depend on your child's skill level and the desired level of competition. If you have any questions about this or anything else please contact the Northwestern Soccer director at  .
